1. In terms of materials, universal printers cannot print silicone latex materials. Now silicone latex products are widely used in daily life, furniture and children's products, such as silicone bowls and cups, children's bibs and teethers, latex sponges and gloves, etc. Due to the great elasticity of this type of product, if the pattern is printed with a universal printer, it is easy to cause pattern deformation and color fading under repeated bending. In the words of the industry, the color fastness is not enough. In addition, on printed clothing, it is also difficult to achieve good color fastness because some fabrics are too elastic.
2. In terms of the shape of the printed product, the universal printer is mainly a product for flat materials. Although it is also possible to print some cylindrical bottles and some machine accessories or toys with a slight height difference, on the whole, universal printers are still limited to flat products. When the height difference is too large, it is easy to cause flying ink, resulting in blurred patterns and unclear edges.
3. Compared with other processes, the universal printer adopts the digital direct injection process, which has obvious advantages and disadvantages. In printing clothes, mass production is not as efficient as silk printing, and small-scale production is not as costly as thermal transfer printing. Applying all-round patterns on large metal parts, watermarking is faster; making concave text patterns requires laser engraving; drawing on porcelain or steel plates with large concave-convexity, you can use pad printing.
Generally speaking, universal printers are not omnipotent. While the digital printing process limits it, it also brings many advantages to it. Almost all the ink used in the universal printer is used on the product, and there is little waste and pollution. In the era of more and more emphasis on health and clean production, it is also a good advantage.
